Utah Motorcycle Accident In South Jordon

MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT INJURES TWO SOUTH JORDAN

Two people were hospitalized Saturday night after the motorcycle they were riding on hit a vehicle from behind. The passenger on the motorcycle, a 19-year-old female from Riverton, was transported by medical helicopter to the University of Utah Medical Center in critical condition after the accident at 9:46pm on Redwood road at 10600 south. The driver of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old male from Riverton, was transported by medical helicopter to LDS Hospital in serious condition.

Neither patient was wearing a helmet. The motorcycle was traveling south bound on Redwood road when it collided with a Chevy Lumina that was slowing to make a left hand turn. The three occupants of the vehicle, from West Jordan, were not injured. Investigations into the accident are ongoing. South Jordan Police will make a decision whether to formally screen charges against the driver of the motorcycle.
