In College Station, Motorcycle accident at intersection

At approximately 4:25 AM the College Station Police Department was dispatched to a major accident at the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and the Southwood Drive. Officers at the scene determined that a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker was traveling east on Harvey Mitchell Parkway, attempting to turn left (north) onto Southwood Drive.

A 2005 Honda Shadow motorcycle was traveling west on Harvey Mitchell Parkway. The vehicles collided in the intersection. At this point it is not known if the driver of the Tracker failed to yield the ROW turning left on a green light or if the driver of the motorcycle disobeyed a red light. The driver of the Tracker suffered minor injuries but refused to be transported to the hospital. The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injurious, including multiple fractures.

He was transported to the College Station Medical Center and later transferred to Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Although he was badly injured, the motorcycle driver is expected to survive. The investigation regarding this case will continue.
