Texas Fatality Accident

On February 20, 2007 at about 1944 hours, College Station Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Francis.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a yellow Suzuki motorcycle and a white Toyota 4Runner had collided.  Preliminary investigation showed that the Toyota 4Runner had been south on Texas Avenue turning left onto Francis.  The motorcycle was north on Texas Avenue when it struck the 4Runner, causing it to flip onto its side.  The occupant of the 4Runner, 19 year old Carrie Blain, was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital, where she was treated for cuts and bruises and is in fair condition.  The driver of the motorcycle was also taken to St. Joseph’s hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The deceased motorcycle driver was identified as Michael Weber, a 20 year old white male resident of Houston.

Northbound Texas Avenue was closed to through traffic from Gilchrist to Walton and southbound traffic was reduced to one lane while the accident was under investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time, however, the case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.
